To be completely honest, other than running around like a crazy person trying to see everything I could in 24 hours, all I wanted to do was to get my hands on the best English breakfast that London has to offer. So, naturally, I spent a good amount of time finding one that not only had amazing reviews, but one that wasn’t in a touristy part of town. That’s how I found Caffe Forum.
As soon as I stepped inside, I knew this was my kind of place. It had hanging plants, a great menu and the friendliest people working behind the counter. I quickly ordered the full english breakfast alongside a cappuccino, and took my time taking in the loveliness of the interior before settling in at my table outside.
Sitting outside was absolutely perfect. As we were nearing the end of April, I was expecting rain or at the very least clouds. I was blessed with sunlight! I loved sitting outside and watching the locals wander in search of a croissant ( which Caffe Forum gives it’s first 100 customers of the day a free one ) or the cars beeping at each other in the distance.
After sitting for a short time outside, the food arrived. And I mean it when I say: it literally had me drooling. Stopping long enough to photograph the plate was about all I could stand! In case you didn’t know, a full-English breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and toast. Caffe Forum also pairs a tall glass of orange juice with the meal, which pretty much tops off this little slice of heaven.
After somehow managing to eat ( most of ) the meal, I finished off with a cappuccino. Whenever I go to Europe, I’ve made it a bit of a thing to always order one. I’ve never had one in the US, so I always look forward to it when I cross the pond. I definitely wasn’t disappointed by the cappuccinos here!
So. If you take anything away from this post, make sure you take the time to visit Caffe Forum. The food is amazing, the people are gracious and you know you will leave with a full stomach and and a happy heart. I know I will definitely be going back the next time I find myself in London!
A special thank you to the man behind the counter who is part of this family-run business who let me photograph and write about this beautiful place.
