The Seattle skyline is arguably one of the best in the United States. With its distinct architecture, Puget Sound, and stunning landscape it really isn’t hard to see why it’s one of the most photographed skylines in the world. While I visited Seattle one afternoon, I made it my mission to find the best places to take advantage of this famous skyline. So without further ado, here are the three best places to get an amazing view – from all angles!
THE SEATTLE GREAT WHEEL
This was an incredible experience! What I loved most about this giant ferris wheel was that it gave you a 360 degree view of Seattle. You could see SafeCo Field, the marina, downtown, and Puget Sound during the ride. The cages are all completely enclosed, so this is something that you can enjoy year-round, rain or shine ( which in Seattle is a brilliant idea ). The ride was $13 plus tax, and they offer the opportunity to purchase souvenir photos separately, if you wish.
This place was probably my favorite. For one – it’s free! I love that something like this is open for everyone to enjoy. The park itself is very narrow, with just a strip of grass and some flowers planted. You can see downtown, Puget Sound, and the surrounding area all over the treetops. It’s simple, minimalistic, and absolutely perfect. I’d just recommend taking a cab/Uber/Lyft to the park, it really is quite a steep walk!
THE SPACE NEEDLE
I was very glad that I saved this one for last. The sun had just set by the time I rode the elevator to the top of the needle and it made this 360 view even better. It was a perfect way to relax and enjoy the view at end the day This admission is a bit more spendy at $22, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can’t get anywhere else!
