When Derek and I arrived in Florence, we had little choice but to hit the ground running. We only had one short day to explore the city to we had no time to waste!
With one day to play with, we chose to experience the culture of the city instead of shuffling from monument to monument. We immediately immersed ourselves in the food, the streets, the wine, and a picturesque vantage point over the city.
Instead of having our heads down studying a map, we chose to wander. We had a few places we wanted to try to visit, but we wanted to discover these places on our own. We started our day with ice cream ( of course! ) and set out to locate the Piazzale Michelangelo.
If you’ve spent any time over on my YouTube channel, you know I’m an absolute sucker for a fantastic view over a city. In each city I visit, I’m always out to discover that fantastic panoramic view.
After spending a short day in this city, I can’t wait to get back and explore even more. One day is simply not enough! After such a brief introduction, I cannot wait to discover it more in depth next time. Have you ever been to Florence? Is there a city you’ve visited where you’ve felt like you needed more time?
